Welcome to The Migraine Diaries
If you found your way here, you probably already know what a vampire day feels like. Light burns, sound is a personal attack, and functioning like a normal human being is completely off the table.
You are in the right place.
This is not a medical website. I am not a doctor. I am someone who has lived with chronic migraines for over ten years, navigates a full-time career around them, and manages all of it alone, with two cats and a lot of hard-won experience.
Here I write about the real-world impact of migraines. The work stuff. The social guilt. The 3am wake-ups with nobody home to help. The things the clinical resources do not cover.
What You Will Find Here
Real talk about managing migraines at work, when you cannot exactly call in every time one hits.
Honest writing about the emotional side, the cancelled plans, the relationships, the guilt, the days you hold it together anyway.
Practical tools and research, written by someone who has done the trial and error, so you do not have to start from zero.
And occasionally, updates from Lucy and Jerri, who are doing great and remain unbothered by my light sensitivity.
A Note Before You Go
The content on this site is based on personal experience, not medical advice. Always talk to your doctor or neurologist about your treatment. Everything here is one person's honest account of living with chronic migraines.
But it is an honest one. And sometimes that is exactly what you need.
